We’re turning “80”: celebrating four generations fresh ideas and professional know-how for homes and gardens

It’s our 80th anniversary and the Seattle Home & Garden Show has plenty to celebrate this year as the oldest and largest home and garden event on the West Coast.

We have been family-owned since 1939 when President Franklin Roosevelt commissioned the McDonald family to produce “Back to Work” events as the country emerged from The Great Depression. With the theme “Things Look Fine for ’39,” the first show was a big success, attracting celebrities including First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt and publisher William Randolph Hearst.

Four generations later, we are proud of our legacy of spotlighting forward-looking trends, products and services from hundreds of local businesses.
