It’s the final weekend of the Seattle Home & Garden Show, and it is all about recreation and home entertainment as the nation’s oldest and largest consumer home show wraps up its 77th annual run this Sunday at Lumen Field Event center!  Northwesterners of all ages are increasingly creating more “play” spaces at home, from saunas to game rooms, including a new line of modular furniture that features built-in surround sound.  The public can also enjoy goat yoga at Yard to Table, a small community farm highlighting the latest in urban farming and gardening, as well as all the latest products and services for the home, from tiny houses to the latest in remote working.

Seattle Home & Garden Show runs now through Sunday March 6, 2022 at Lumen Field Event Center.  Show hours are:  Friday 11 AM – 5 PM, Saturday & Sunday 10 AM – 6 PM.

“Yard to Table,” a Small Community Farm Showcasing the Latest in Urban Farming and Homesteading

From backyard beekeeping to apartment gardening, Northwesterners can see all the latest in urban farming and homesteading at “Yard to Table,” a 6,000 square foot educational community garden, at the Seattle Home & Garden Show.  A collaborative effort of more than two dozen of the region’s independent leaders in the Yard to Table movement (who are building this small farm on site to address the region’s burgeoning pandemic-related interest in gardening), “Yard to Table” features raised vegetable and flower beds, live small farm animals (including sheep, goats and baby chicks), a chicken coop and a greenhouse, as well as rotating presentations ranging from goat yoga to growing your own produce at home.

Family Fun Weekend Activities

There will be plenty of fun activities for the whole family this weekend at the Seattle Home & Garden Show!

Showcased this year are game room exhibits, the latest design innovations for remote working and learning and “Yard to Table”, a 6,000 square foot educational community garden, complete with small farm animals.  At Yard to Table, there will be baby chicks every day as well as live beehives (enclosed in glass cases) where the family can see up close the activities of bees and their hives.  As well, there will be rotating presentations on topics such as goat yoga, raising goats and sheep, weaving, growing your own produce, raising chickens, apartment/condo gardening and more, with no two days alike.

Even more activities include, LANFest, an onsite computer gaming event in conjunction with Best Buy for gamers of all ages and Swim/Bike/Run for Habitat, an onsite fundraiser for affordable housing where you can sign up to compete by swimming, biking or running, with proceeds donated to Habitat for Humanity.

The show opens tomorrow, February 26th at 10am!
