The Seattle Home & Garden show may be over, but that doesn’t mean you have to wait until the next show to start planning some home improvement projects or getting ideas for everything that has to do with the home and garden.  Here are some tips on how to make your home show experience last year round.

• Did you get a lot of information from exhibitors when you visited the show?  If so, start organizing that information into what your top 5 projects or ideas for the home will be.  

• Research those companies online and/or in person to see if they are a good fit for you.

Habitat for Humanity Fundraiser for Affordable Housing Today at Seattle Home & Garden Show

Athletes of all ages will raise money for affordable housing at “Swim Bike Run for Habitat,” an exercise-based charity event taking place today at the Seattle Home & Garden Show, the nation’s oldest and largest consumer home show.  Every minute or meter they compete, either swimming, biking or running using a swim spa, stationary bike, or treadmill located onsite, Aqua Quip, the Seattle Home Show, Fitness Shop and BECU will make a donation to Habitat for Humanity on their behalf.  

Today is the last day of the Seattle Home & Garden Show at Lumen Field Event Center.

How COVID has Transformed the Design of the Northwest Home

COVID has reshaped the design of the Northwest home, say Seattle Home & Garden Show exhibitors, who represent the leading building, design and landscape professionals in the region.  Carving out more private spaces for remote working and learning, urban gardening and urban farming (including raising small farm animals and growing your own produce) and increased interest in home recreation and entertainment, from saunas and spas to game rooms, are among the top trends the public can see at this year’s show as we enter the third year of the pandemic. 

With a one-stop shop all under one roof, this is an ideal opportunity for the public to learn more about the latest trends and products for the home, no matter the size of their project, even for consumers that reside in apartments and condos.

Family Fun Weekend Activities

There will be plenty of fun activities for the whole family this weekend at the Seattle Home & Garden Show!

Showcased this year are game room exhibits, the latest design innovations for remote working and learning and “Yard to Table”, a 6,000 square foot educational community garden, complete with small farm animals.  At Yard to Table, there will be baby chicks every day as well as live beehives (enclosed in glass cases) where the family can see up close the activities of bees and their hives.  As well, there will be rotating presentations on topics such as goat yoga, raising goats and sheep, weaving, growing your own produce, raising chickens, apartment/condo gardening and more, with no two days alike.  

Even more activities include, LANFest, an onsite computer gaming event in conjunction with Best Buy for gamers of all ages and Swim/Bike/Run for Habitat, an onsite fundraiser for affordable housing where you can sign up to compete by swimming, biking or running, with proceeds donated to Habitat for Humanity.

The show opens tomorrow, February 26th at 10am!

Cool Cowboy Cabins

Looking for a vacation cabin or tiny home?  Stop by Cowboy Cabins.  From the exterior, these unique homes look like rustic cabins but in actuality are homes on wheels.  Cowboy Cabins are especially suited for vacation properties or remote locations, either before you build or even in place of a traditional home.  Inside, Cowboy Cabins come with a variety of amenities that belie their size, from a/c to a compact kitchen.  Cowboy Cabins come both in standard packages as well as being custom built.

The Final Weekend of the Seattle Home Show!

This is the final weekend of America's oldest and largest home show and it is right here in Seattle!  If you haven't made it to CenturyLink Field Event Center yet to check out all the cool new products for your home or want to come visit the show again, then this is the weekend to do it.  The show will be open both today and tomorrow from 10am-6pm.

For family backyard fun, stop by Springfree Trampoline.  Billed as the World’s Safest Trampoline, Springfree Trampolines are made without springs.  They feature shock absorbent sides and are enclosed to prevent falls.

Take a Stroll Through the Garden at Malone's

Malone’s is creating a “stroll through the garden” that shows  landscaping ideas and products for today’s Northwest garden.   Ideas range from hardscapes (including pavers and walls) as well as water features.  Included in the exhibit are three compact modular homes.  These tiny cabin-style homes measure a sleek 8 feet by 24 feet wide.
