A big win for homeowners, the 2025 passage of House Bill 1337 by lawmakers removed significant barriers to building accessory dwelling units (ADUs), including detached units known as DADUs (Detached Accessory Dwelling Units), also known as backyard cottages and “tiny homes.” The new statewide reform presents expanded income producing opportunities and other benefits for homeowners.

That’s a question sure to come up over the next five months, and the show, presented by SkyDADU, will have answers when we open tomorrow at Lumen Field Event Center.

We’ll be seeing more DADUs (Detached Accessory Dwelling Units), often called backyard cottages, as cities across the state tackle the need for more housing. With the passage of House Bill-1337, cities are being encouraged to embrace DADUs in their zoning plans by June 1, 2025.
