Seattle Home Show 2 Visitors Enjoying the Comforts of Sleep Number Beds
Seattle Home Show 2 always offers Northwesterners the chance
to see and touch first hand all the latest products and services for the home,
and this year is no exception.
Among the home products show visitors are particularly enjoying this
year are the Sleep Number adjustable firmness mattresses from Select Comfort.
The Sleep Number beds feature air chamber technology that allows consumers to
adjust the mattress with exactly the firmness they desire, whether it be

Chef Nick Musser of the icon Grill to Appear Saturday at Noon
A Boise boy, Nick moved to the Seattle area in 1986 to
continue his music education (he still plays viola). To pay for school, Nick
started working in the restaurant industry and has not looked back, serving in
a variety of progressively responsible positions including sous chef at
McCormick & Schmick's and McCormick's Fish House, head chef at the Yarrow
Bay Beach Cafe and as chef d'cuisine at the Flying Fish before becoming
executive chef at the icon Grill, where he oversees kitchens and menus at the
icon Grill and at two Zephyr Grill locations: Kent, WA and Livermore, CA. He is a true giver and gets involved
with many fundraising events, including Cooking with Class, FareStart and the
Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Outdoor Living and Wine Garden
One of the special returning features at Seattle Home Show 2
is the Outdoor Living and Wine Garden, created by show favorite London Design Build.
This display features all the latest
trends in outdoor living through a series of fully landscaped vignettes showcasing
the wide range of possibilties for outdoor living. Bocce ball, a putting green, water features and various outdoor
seating scenarios highlight the exhibit. Esconced in this display is a fully landscaped wine garden, where
show visitors can sit back and sample local wines to the soothing sounds of live
music.

Chef Paolo Carey-DiGregorio of Salty's on Alki Beach To Appear at Seattle Home Show 2 Friday at 2 PM
From an early age Paolo has gravitated to cooking and as an
adult made his way through many kitchens in Seattle. In 2004, Paolo quickly
moved up from wood-oven cook at Salty's on Alki to leadership roles as sous
chef, chef de cuisine and naturally and deservedly to executive chef today. Paolo revels in our local bounty, expressing, "Our access to premier
seasonal ingredients is awe inspiring!" While chef Paolo is
influenced by Mediterranean and Asian flavors, his heart is entirely northwest.

Dan Gilmore,
executive chef, The Hunt Club at Sorrento Hotel, kicks off Seattle Home Show 2's
Chef Series today at noon. Gilmore
brings more than 24 years of experience to his position at the Sorrento Hotel.
Since the 1990s, Gilmore has built much of his reputation by working with the
best chefs in the country at restaurants all over the West Coast, most recently
serving as Executive Chef at Palisade. “My culinary concept for the Hunt Club expresses a whimsical and playful
experience. It speaks of looking back at the past, a nod towards tradition, but
refreshing our cuisine by keeping an eye on the future,”says Gilmore.
OPENING DAY AT SEATTLE HOME SHOW 2
It's opening day for Seattle Home Show 2 and the doors are now
open for the fall version of the nation's oldest and largest consumer home show.
Nearly 400 exhibits featuring all the latest products and services for the home
are now ready for you to see. Join the others to see the exciting happenings at
this year's Show.
Headlining Seattle Home Show 2 is star appraiser Dr. Lori of
Discovery Channel's "Auction Kings," who will be entertaining show visitors
with her unique look at the world of antiques, art and collectibles. Dr. Lori, who will be appearing at 11 am
and 3 pm today, offers a "sit down" show where visitors can get an inside
look on collecting. As part of her
show, Dr. Lori is offering free appraisals of the your treasures. Some of the
past show visitors had the opportunity to have their items appraised and were
amazed by their hidden treasures discovered by Dr. Lori. Dr. Lori will also be appearing Saturday
at 11 am and 3 pm, and Sunday at 11 am and 2 pm.

KING 5 AIRS SNEAK PREVIEW OF SEATTLE HOME SHOW 2

It’s the final day of set up for the 2012 edition of SeattleHome Show 2, and exhibitors are working furiously to make the final touches to
their displays for Friday’s opening day.
Among the special visitors during Seattle Home Show 2’s set up was KING
5’s Christie Johnson, who offered viewers a sneak preview of what the public
can see when the Show opens tomorrow. Three
exhibits were highlighted.
Ferguson Enterprises, which showed Christie its high tech
toilet that features an automatically opening lid and seat, a smartphone-like
touch pad to play music, a heated seat, a self-cleaning bowl, bidet functions
and even a built in nightlight. After
the toilet, Ferguson demonstrated its new magnetic induction “burner-less”
cooktop that automatically adjusts to cook any size pot or pan (up to five at a
time).
Moving from kitchen and bath, Christie visited with muralist
Andy Eccleshall of the Mural Works, who showed King 5 viewers how they can
transform their homes using the art of trompe d’oeil.

Christie wound up the preview with a visit to Coast Cabins
and their unique backyard cottage showing how consumers can build the backyard
cottage of their dreams using a rubber mallet.

Set Up Now Underway for 2012 Edition of Seattle Home Show 2
It’s the first day of set up for
the fall version of the oldest and largest consumer home show in the
country. CenturyLink Field Event Center
is filled with the sound of trucks and tractors, hammers and power tools, as
exhibitors work apace to get ready for opening day on Friday. Nearly 400 displays featuring everything from
outdoor living to appliances and building products will be at Seattle Home Show
2, which will be constructed over the course of just three days, transforming
CenturyLink Field Event Center into a virtual one-stop shopping center for all
the latest products and services for the home.
As we approach the eve of the
start of Seattle Home Show 2, exhibitors (who represent the leading building,
design and landscape professionals in the region) report that both home sales
and consumer spending on their homes is at its highest since the start of the
2008 economic downturn. At the same
time, though, there’s a “new” ideal Northwest home that has begun to emerge,
including smaller and more intimate living.
Kitchen eating areas over formal dining rooms and multi-generational
living are just some of the new trends in the new Northwest home.

Seattle Home Show 2012 Enters Final Weekend
It is the final weekend for the 68th annual run of the Seattle Home Show, the nation’s oldest and largest home show. Northwesterners have been enjoying themselves all week seeing all the latest products and services for the home, such as remodeling, home financing (including programs for first time buyers) and home construction. There’s still time to see the new products at this year’s Show including a musical toilet and a house made from a recycled shipping container.

Timberland Homes unveils new “foundation included” program at 2012 Seattle Home Show.
Long-time Seattle Home Show exhibitor Timberland Homes is using the 2012 Seattle Home Show to
unveil an innovative new approach to modular construction. Timberland is now including concrete
foundations with all their modular homes.
Timberland
President Dave McKim says that the new program is designed to make the home
buying process easier and offer customers a turnkey home package. McKim says,
“Including foundations with all our homes makes it easier for our customers who
have been waiting to start their projects to move forward”.
The
Foundation included program is only available for a limited time and there are
some restrictions; interested home buyers should contact Timberland.
Timberland
is one of the most experienced modular home builders in the Northwest, and has
constructed more than 2,600 homes since 1973. Timberland builds homes in
Washington, Oregon and Idaho. Timberland’s modular construction and flexible
floor plans are equally suited for remote locations and in-fill lots.

CELEBRITY ART AND ANTIQUES APPRAISER DR. LORI AT SEATTLE HOME SHOW TODAY AND TOMORROW; ALSO FEATURED ON KJR-FM’S “THE BOB RIVERS” SHOW
Star of Discovery Channel’s “Auction Kings” and certified art and antique appraiser Dr. Lori returns to Seattle Home Show today and tomorrow with her free on the spot evaluations of the public’s collectibles. Show visitors are invited to bring in their family heirlooms, treasures, thrift store finds and more to find out their worth.
Before the Show opened today, Dr. Lori was interviewed by KJR-FM Radio’s Bob Rivers of “The Bob Rivers Show.” Dr. Lori shared with on-air staff and listeners some of her expert insights into the world of collecting, as well as appraising items brought in by KJR staffers for evaluation. The lines were also opened for the public to call Dr. Lori for her to evaluate their items’ worth right over the phone!Dr. Lori appears 1 and 4 PM today and tomorrow.

SEATTLE HOME SHOW 2012 FEATURED ON KING 5’S MORNING NEWS
Seattle Home Show had a special visitor today: King 5’s Christie Johnson, who came to Seattle Home Show to broadcast live from the Show floor. Christie highlighted all that’s trending now for outdoor living with Ben Middlemiss of London Design Build, who designed and built the Outdoor Living and Wine Garden, a major feature at Seattle Home Show 2012.

SEATTLE HOME SHOW ATTENDANCE UP 30 PERCENT
The Seattle Home Show 2012 is well underway, and Northwesterners are indulging in their home improvement fantasies in droves here at CenturyLink Field Event Center. Opening day attendance was up by 30 percent over the previous year, a positive indicator of the public’s interest in the home market. More updates to come!

OUTDOOR LIVING AND WINE GARDEN A HIT AT SEATTLE HOME SHOW 2012
It’s opening day, and Seattle Home Show visitors are thronging at the Outdoor Living and Wine Garden., created by London Design Build. Families are enjoying themselves on a giant play set (courtesy of Rainbow Play Systems), while members of the over 21 crowd are enjoying sampling the best in Northwest, to the tunes of live musical entertainment. Other show visitors are simply enjoying strolling through the Garden to view the latest in outdoor living in this 10,000 square foot display that features six decks, four hardscapes, a variety of water features, an outdoor pizza oven and outdoor fireplace. There’s even a display version of a backyard cottage, courtesy of FabCab.

Now Under Construction at Seattle Home Show 2012: Outdoor Living and Wine Garden

Going up in the East Hall is the Outdoor Living and Wine Garden, a key feature of this year’s Show. This 10,000 square foot display created by London Design Build will highlight all the latest in outdoor living. In addition to a series of outdoor vignettes (in Northwest Asian and Tudor themes), the exhibit will include a Wine Tasting area featuring some of the best in Northwest wines. Even if you’re not a wine aficionado, there will be plenty to see; by show time, the Outdoor Living and Wine Garden will feature six decks, four hardscape areas, pergolas, water features, evergreens and a variety of seasonal plants for a late winter/early spring garden.

A pile of dirt today, a display garden with backyard cottage by Saturday
The pace continues at Seattle Home Show 2012 as exhibitors work to complete their displays at the nation’s oldest and largest consumer home show. By Saturday, nearly 500 exhibits featuring all the latest products, trends and services for the home will be constructed and completed for the public’s viewing pleasure!
Can you guess what this relatively empty space with its large pile of dirt will be? By show opening, this will be a fully landscaped display garden with backyard cottage!
Malone’s Landscaping is creating an inviting Northwest garden with water features, low maintenance plants and comfortable outdoor living spaces reflecting the season. ShelterKraft Werks is erecting one of its unique backyard cottages made from recycled shipping containers. See the pictures of the display in progress as well as a rendering of what the display will look like when completed.

Setup Now Underway for Seattle Home Show 2012
Seattle Home Show 2012 is just around the corner, and setup is underway for the 68th edition of the nation’s oldest and largest home show. “We’re Having a House Party” is the theme of this year’s Show, and exhibitors are busy getting “party ready” for Seattle Home Show’s opening on Saturday. Backyard cottages, year round outdoor spaces and simpler living are among just some of the highlights the public will see at this year’s Show. The nearly 500 exhibits featuring all the latest in interior and exterior ideas for the home (including display gardens) are erected and finished for viewing in just five short days!
