That’s a question sure to come up over the next five months, and the show, presented by SkyDADU, will have answers when we open tomorrow at Lumen Field Event Center.

We’ll be seeing more DADUs (Detached Accessory Dwelling Units), often called backyard cottages, as cities across the state tackle the need for more housing. It’s a transformative housing resource for renters, multi-generational households, first-time buyers and others.

The show will feature educational displays by SkyDADU focusing on design, financing and construction, and models by several builders will be featured on the show floor. And SkyDADU President Tod Sakai will be sharing important information in his "New DADU Law Generates Passive Income with $0 Money Down" seminars each day of the show at 1 p.m.

Benefits of DADUs include:

  • Aging in Place: keeping family close with private and comfortable housing solutions
  • Increased Property Value and Equity: generate rental income or increase property resale value
  • More Choices for Renters: providing a home-like, stand-alone rental option
  • First-Time Homebuyers Appeal: create affordable entry points to better locations
