What’s Trending Now for the Home

Tub to shower conversion
Tub to shower conversions. Reclaimed wood as ceiling accents. Rustic style game rooms.  These are just some of the top trends the public can see through 6 pm tonight on the final day of Seattle Home Show 2, the fall version of the oldest and largest consumer home show in the country.

Here are just some of the hot products and trends at this year’s show:

Bathtub to shower conversions, where homeowners take a second bath, and do a “reverse” remodel, removing an existing tub and installing a larger shower in its place.
Modern style pool table
Reclaimed wood, from floating mantels to wall and ceiling claddings to furniture made of old growth wood salvaged from demolished older homes.

Reclaimed wood table
Modern and rustic style in game rooms. Modern or rustic styles are “in” for pool tables and other game room furniture, as homeowners look to match game room décor with the style of rest of their home.

“Staycation” landscaping and outdoor living.  “Staycation” type of landscaping – which create the look and feel of a hotel or resort - and outdoor entertainment spaces are on the rise, including making these spaces something they can use all four seasons.
